THE LEAGUE: SEASON THREE, WEEK TEN

The beleaguered country of Japan gets a morale boost as for the second time this season, the League comes to the Land of the Rising Sun. Despite the hardships the country has endured in recent weeks, the crowd seems more lively than usual as the usual pyro goes off to signal the start of the show. Soon after, as is the norm, we head to ringside and our three-person announce team.

Bob Sinclair: Welcome, everyone, to week ten of The League! As always, I'm Bob Sinclair, sitting at ringside with Frankie Garnett and Tori Montgomery, and tonight is the third of four all-divisional cards this season.

Frankie Garnett: Which means that there will be HATE in these matches; I cannot wait!

Tori Montgomery: I'm more interested to see who steps up and starts to push towards a playoff spot; we're starting to come down to the wire here.

Bob Sinclair: In any event, folks, strap yourselves in, we're looking at some hot action tonight as we go to the ring and the voice of The League, Amelia Williams, to get us underway!

DELTA DIVISION HARDCORE MATCH: SGRaaize (5-4, 8%) vs. Sebastian Moore (2-7, 13%)
A Portugesa hits the speakers to a rousing chorus of jeers as the Tron displays the national flag of Portugal. Emerging from the entryway, he turns to salute his homeland's flag before calmly walking to the ring, ignoring the fans as he slides into the ring and bounces off the ropes a couple of times to stretch.

Amelia Williams: Ladies and gentlemen, our opening match of the night is a Hardcore match in the Delta Division, scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Torres Vedras, Portugal, weighing 231 pounds...SGRaaize!

Bob Sinclair: Put simply, Raaize is in a must-win situation here. A loss plus a Templeton win puts him three matches behind Templeton with four to go, and all but eliminates him from the divisional hunt.

Frankie Garnett: Then again, Bob, the Delta Division is the weak link this season. Any division with Moore and Demonio in it, the way they've performed this season, is almost a lock to get a champion crowned first.

Tori Montgomery: Nonetheless, Raaize is making a good run at it; he could find himself sneaking into the playoffs if the chips fall his way.

It is to Muse's "Assassin" that he emerges, an arrogant smirk crossing his face as he soaks in the jeers of the crowd. Looking up at the spotlight for a moment, his smirk seems to get even bigger as he walks down the ramp, ignoring the catcalls of the crowd as he ascends the steps, wipes his feet on the apron, and steps through the ropes.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Manchester, England, weighing 237 pounds...Sebastian Moore!

Tori Montgomery: Well, folks, should Moore lose here, he's basically done for the season. There has never been a wrestler who has advanced to the League Playoffs with a losing record.

Frankie Garnett: So no Seattle Seahawks shenanigans?

Bob Sinclair: Say that five times fast, Frankie.

Frankie Garnett: You wish, Bob....

Frankie Garnett: I guess now that he's all but eliminated from the playoffs, he needs to show the brass that he deserves to stay for next season?

Tori Montgomery: I doubt that's the case; I just think he's finally getting out of his slump.

Tori Montgomery: Well, then again....

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner, at a time of ten minutes and forty seconds...SGRaaize!

Bob Sinclair: And Raaize is continuing to put the pressure on Templeton to maintain that two-match lead in the Delta Division.

Tori Montgomery: Given the interview that was leaked to League offices and at Beyond Ringside earlier this week, the pressure could indeed be too much for Templeton. We'll find out in the last month of the season.

Frankie Garnett: In the meantime, I still don't buy Raaize as a credible threat to become champion. It's just...really, what else does he have besides the lariat?

Tori Montgomery: A lot of tenacity, Frankie, and it's seen shown in the past that it can go a long way.

Frankie Garnett: I knew that was coming...

ALPHA DIVISION: Super Century (3-6, 18%) vs. Thor Hammerskald (5-4, 9%)
Without warning, all of the lights go off in the arena, casting everything into pitch blackness. A few seconds pass before a spotlight shines on one of the turnbuckles, revealing no one there. This is repeated with all four turnbuckles, each revealing no one there. Finally, one last spotlight shines down onto the middle of the ring, which reveals the caped form of The League's resident superhero, who stands with arms folded and staring intently into the audience.

Amelia Williams: This is an Alpha Division contest scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from the Halls of Justice, weighing 205 pounds...Super Century!

Bob Sinclair: Century has struggled a bit this season, even though some may say that he won a moral victory at Tag Team Turmoil in getting Scott Stevens to dress up like a superhero.

Frankie Garnett: Moral victory? Bob, I don't know what bizarro world you live in, but that was only one thing—a travesty!

Tori Montgomery: I found it amusing, quite honestly.

Amon Amarth's "Death in Fire" hits the speakers, to a decent ovation as the League rookie emerges from backstage, looking every bit the part of a Viking warrior as he strides to the ring with a determined look on his face...and scattering some of the fans away from the entrance ramp as he turns to glare at them.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Oslo, Norway, weighing 310 pounds...Thor Hammerskald!

Bob Sinclair: Hammerskald comes in one match behind Triumph in the Alpha Division, but still within striking distance of the top six and a berth in the playoffs.

Frankie Garnett: Which, if he's smart, he'll look to put Century away quickly and ensure that he's still in the hunt for one of those spots.

Tori Montgomery: You say that like he intends to toy with Century like a cat would toy with a mouse, Frankie.

Frankie Garnett: Stranger things have happened, Tori.

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner, at a time of sixteen minutes and twenty seconds...Thor Hammerskald!

Bob Sinclair: And despite getting up from one of the most devastating moves we've seen all season, Century still comes up a bit short as Hammerskald finds a way to win!

Frankie Garnett: I'm telling you both right now, Hammerskald's my dark horse this season. If he gets into the playoffs, he's going to make a run.

Tori Montgomery: I'm not going to argue the case with you, Frankie. Heck, with that win, there's a possibility that he could be leaving Hiroshima as the Alpha Division leader!

GAMMA DIVISION: Robbie Maynard (6-3, 16%) vs. Ian Carlisle (4-5, 12%)
The opening riffs of Metallica's "Master of Puppets" hits the speakers, drawing a mixed reaction from the crowd as one of the League's initial playoff wrestlers emerges from the stage, bathed in a blue light shining beneath him. After pausing to mentally prepare himself, he walks to the ring, his eyes never leaving the squared circle as he climbs onto the apron and ducks between the ropes.

Amelia Williams: This is a Gamma Division contest scheduled for one fall! Entering the ring, from Liverpool, England, weighing 251 pounds...Robbie Maynard!

Tori Montgomery: I've been saying it all season, fellas, and with Maynard entering tonight in the #5 position, it just confirms what I've said. Maynard is for real this season.

Frankie Garnett: I have to wonder just what was added to his protein shakes for him to see the success, if you get what I'm saying.

Bob Sinclair: Frankie, that accusation has not stuck yet. I do not think it will start to now.

No music heralds the arrival of one of this season's rookies, as he makes his way to the ring without trying to let any emotions become visible on his face.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Blackpool, England, weighing 222 pounds...Ian Carlisle!

Bob Sinclair: With a pair of Englishmen in this match, I'm expecting nothing short of a bare-knuckle brawl!

Frankie Garnett: Good, my kind of match!

Tori Montgomery: Way to wind him up, Bob...

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner, at a time of seven and a half minutes...Robbie Maynard!

Tori Montgomery: And my season-long pick to win it all keeps on rolling, putting Carlisle away in short order.

Frankie Garnett: But he did terrible in his only playoff appearance to date—don't you think he is going to choke again?

Tori Montgomery: In the form he's in this season? Nope.

Bob Sinclair: We'll find out soon enough, as Maynard continues his march towards the Gamma Division title and the playoffs!

BETA DIVISION: Diamond (4-5, 13%) vs. Scott Stevens (5-4, 18%)
Bob Sinclair: Coming up is the match that I'm sure that most of our viewers have been waiting for. With all of the rampant speculation going on concerning Diamond, Scott Stevens, and his wife Lisa Stevens, this match could go a long way towards proving or disproving anything that's been said about the subject.

Frankie Garnett: Bob, can you get any more vague? Quite simply, we're about to find out whether these two have been knocking boots behind the camera!

Tori Montgomery: Frankie, only people like you and that bush-league vlogger that seems to pop up out of nowhere believe that. The rest of us know better.

Bob Sinclair: In any event, the time for talk is over, let's go to the ring to get this grudge match going.

The beat of "Don't Cha" (the network censors apparently don't like the name of Fergie's band....) hits the arena to a mixed reaction as The League's lone female member emerges from backstage. There is a confident smirk on her face as she talks trash with some of the louder fans before sprinting into the ring by diving under the bottom rope. As she stands, she proceeds to the corner nearest the announce table, hands thrown in the air as the soaks in the crowd reaction while her manager stands outside, also applauding her client.

Amelia Williams: This is a Beta Division contest scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Jayde, from Aberdeen, Scotland, weighing 137 pounds...Diamond!

Frankie Garnett: ...so THIS is what she was threatening to boycott this week over?

Bob Sinclair: Apparently so, Frankie.

Frankie Garnett: She needs better taste in music.

Tori Montgomery: (forces herself to stop humming to the music) Say that again, Frankie? I didn't hear you.

Frankie Garnett: Oy....

The lights in the arena go pitch black, as red lasers and spotlights light up the area. The video screen lights up and flashes across the screen, "Nothing survives my sting!" Over the audio system a snippet of Dave Mustaine from the song "Scorpion" yells, "I am the Scorpion whoah!!!" This causes the crowd to start booing as a mash up of "I Stand Alone" by Godsmack and "Amazing" by Kanye West hits the speakers. Out from the back emerges "The Venomous One" wearing a replica of The League's World Championship around his waist and the man in question walks to the ring, talking trash the whole way while showing off his title belt.

Amelia Williams: Her opponent, from Houston, Texas, weighing 265 pounds...He is "The League's Real World's Heavyweight Champion"... "The Scorpion" Scott Stevens!

Tori Montgomery: Hasn't he grown out of this yet? No one is taking him seriously as a champion.

Frankie Garnett: Shun the non-believer!

Tori Montgomery: What in the—

Frankie Garnett: SHUN!!!!

Bob Sinclair: Frankie, she is not Charlie the Unicorn. Give it a rest.

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner, at a time of seven minutes and ten seconds...Diamond!

Tori Montgomery: And with that, the winner of the other Beta Division match WILL hold the division lead. If Phoenix wins, Diamond will move to second in the division; a Kerghan win will move her to third in the division.

Frankie Garnett: So she has to root for that fat guy in order to move closer to the lead?

Bob Sinclair: Phoenix has the tie-breaker on her, Frankie. I don't think she cares either way, to be honest.

DELTA DIVISION: El Demonio de Sangre (1-8, 19%) vs. Nuclear Templeton (7-2, 13%)
The driving metal of Slayer's "Raining Blood" hit the speakers as the lone luchador in The League emerges from backstage. His mask is obscured by the smoke billowing around him, and it is a blood-red spotlight that follows him to the ring as he hops over the top rope and paces back and forth, waiting impatiently for the match to begin.

Amelia Williams: This is a Delta Division contest scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Tijuana, Mexico, weighing 142 pounds...he is El Demonio de Sangre!

Tori Montgomery: All right, Frankie, tell me this. Have your sources told you anything regarding Demonio in recent weeks?

Frankie Garnett: No. They only report on winners.

Tori Montgomery: Well, looks like I win this round. I've heard reports that Demonio may be looking to sign elsewhere after this season.

Bob Sinclair: Given what happened to the last guy who did that, is that wise of Demonio?

Tori Montgomery: Unlike that guy, Demonio's not a royal ass to anyone.

Billy Idol's "Shock to the System" hits the speakers, bringing the crowd to their feet in ovation as one of the League's more recognizable faces emerges from backstage and across the green-tinted stage. As he hits the end of the entrance ramp, he throws his arms into the air, sending a pair of mushroom clouds into the air from the stage as he makes his way to the ring and through the ropes.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, weighing 278 pounds, he is the current Delta Division leader...Nuclear Templeton!

Bob Sinclair: After everything that's gone down in the last few days, I'll be interested to see if Templeton can focus on the task at hand.

Frankie Garnett: More like, "how will Templeton find a way to cheese a victory this week?" I still maintain that a countout victory should not be rendered official!

Tori Montgomery: A win is a win, Frankie. You'd be quick to defend it if Scott Stevens or Johnny Triumph won via countout, so don't give me that line!

Frankie Garnett: ....

Tori Montgomery: Templeton maintains his two match lead and overall League leadership with that win.

Bob Sinclair: With only four matches to go, Raaize's chances of assuming the Delta Division lead are becoming slimmer and slimmer.

Frankie Garnett: Face it, you two. Templeton will roll.

Tori Montgomery: I'm going to have to disagree, Frankie. Call it a hunch.

BETA DIVISION: Ezekial Kerghan (5-4, 15%) vs. The Phoenix (5-4, 20%)
Escape the Fate's "This War is Ours" hits the arena speakers as The League's newest resident psychopath emerges and heads towards the ring, looking like he's having an argument with voices only he can hear.

Amelia Williams: This contest, scheduled for one fall, is for the Beta Division lead! Introducing first, from The Dog Pound, weighing 251 pounds, he is the current Beta Division leader...Ezekial Kerghan!

Bob Sinclair: Kerghan looks a bit more deranged than normal tonight.

Frankie Garnett: I might be hiding under the desk if he comes this way, y'all.

Tori Montgomery: Chicken. Real announcers sit here and watch the chaos unfold around them.

The opening chords of "The Instinct" hit as the entryway is bathed in a fiery orange light. Twin pillars of flame erupt from the entrance stage, one per side, as The League's largest member walks to the ring, a smaller figure walking beside him on his left. As he approaches the steps, he pauses, bowing his head for a few seconds before taking a deep breath and releasing a shout to the skies above. His wife reaches up and gives him a quick peck on the cheek for luck as he ducks between the ropes and finishes his stretching..

Amelia Williams: His opponent , being accompanied to the ring by Te'Snilo Bradenbury, from the End of Nowhere, weighing 337 pounds...this is The Phoenix!

Frankie Garnett: If Phoenix ever needed to lose in twenty seconds to a headlock, this is the week for it.

Bob Sinclair: Lose to a headlock? What sort of wrestling have you been watching, Frankie?

Frankie Garnett: Oh, some wacky thing called Zen Wrestling. You should try it sometime!

Tori Montgomery: That will be the division race to watch for the rest of this season, guys. Whoever comes from that division will have earned it.

Frankie Garnett: All we need is for Diamond to make a run and knock out the fat guy in the final week of the season.

ALPHA DIVISION: Tarik Nolan (4-5, 21%) vs. Johnny Triumph (6-3, 18%)
"Regulate" hits the speakers, immediately drawing the ire of the crowd as a large figure stands in the entryway, backlit by a clear spotlight. Pyro explodes on the stage, causing the light to shut off as the figure finally emerges onto the stage proper. Laughing at the boos hurled in his direction, he takes his time walking to the ring and subsequently entering it for his next match.

Amelia Williams: This is an Alpha Division bout scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Shreveport, Louisiana, weighing 292 pounds...Tarik Nolan!

Bob Sinclair: A win here would certainly improve Nolan's chances at making the playoffs for the second consecutive season.

Frankie Garnett: Not happening. Not against the champ.

Tori Montgomery: You forget, Frankie...in the regular season, Nolan has the advantage over Triumph.

A remixed version of "Ecstasy of Gold" hits the speakers, which is nearly drowned out in jeers as he emerges from the entryway, a rain of golden sparks falling behind him as he walks to the ring with a confident look on his face and the League Championship belt draped over his right shoulder. Instead of taking the steps closest to him, he walks around to the opposite side of the ring, drawing in more jeers as he finally climbs the steps and enters the ring.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Des Moines, Iowa, weighing 228 pounds, he is the current Alpha Division leader and the reigning League Champion...Johnny Triumph!

GAMMA DIVISION: Sean (6-3, 19%) vs. Maxx Skabb (4-5, 23%)
Black Sabbath's classic "Iron Man" hits the arena speakers, as strobe lights begin to flash in the entryway. Fog rolls in from the entrance proper as a figure emerges, walking slowly to the ring and mentally preparing for what's ahead of him. He slides in under the bottom rope and walks over to one of the nearby turnbuckles, leaning up against them as the song fades.

Amelia Williams: This Gamma Division contest is our main event of the evening, scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Charlotte, North Carolina, weighing 230 pounds, he is the current Gamma Division leader...Sean!

Tori Montgomery: Sean cannot fall out of the division lead tonight, as he has the main tie-breaker over Maynard in second place, but a loss tonight makes the Gamma Division race that much tighter!

Frankie Garnett: Sean's not going to lose tonight, Tori. I have a good feeling about this.

Bob Sinclair: The last time you said that, I had to bail you out of a Las Vegas jail, Frankie.

Frankie Garnett: Hey! How was I supposed to know that the dude looked like a lady?

Tori Montgomery: Not going to ask, not going to ask at all....

Avenged Sevenfold's "Nightmare" blares throughout the arena as spotlights begin to pan over the audience, as if looking for someone. A dim red light shines on the entryway, revealing a hulking figure making his way to ringside. As the refrain hits, the spotlights immediately focus on him as white strobe lights flash on the entrance stage. He slides under the bottom rope, his orange jumpsuit a stark contrast to most of the clothing in the audience as the song fades into silence.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from the Orange County Correctional Facility, weighing 289 pounds...Maxx Skabb!

Frankie Garnett: I normally don't say this, but...Skabb really has appropriate music. He looks like a walking nightmare.

Bob Sinclair: He still needs to prove himself in The League, as he enters tonight two matches behind the leader and needs some help to make it to the postseason.
