THE LEAGUE: SEASON FOUR, WEEK TWO

Molineux Stadium plays host to an outdoor edition of The League, as close to 30,000 fill the stands and the temporary seating on the pitch. The obligatory pyro goes off, though slightly subdued due to the outdoor nature and the unpredictability of the winds, before we head to ringside and our announce team.

Bob Sinclair: Hello, everyone, and welcome to the home of Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C.! Bob Sinclair, sitting at ringside alongside Tori Montgomery. Frankie Garnett will be joining us later on in the show.

Tori Montgomery: It's week two of the season; I cannot help but feel like this could be a heck of a card given that this is our first visit to the Midlands of the UK, Bob.

Bob Sinclair: Indeed, Tori. And we're not going to waste any time; let's go to Amelia Williams in the ring to get us underway.

RED DIVISION: Pizza Mask III (0-1, 9%) vs. Scott Stevens (0-1, 6%)

The theme to Samurai Pizza Cats, of all things, hits as Pizza Mask comes out on a scooter, with a pizza box strapped to the back, wearing a helmet with his pizza-design mask, black polo shirt and khaki pants, hopping off the scooter and unstrapping the pizza box, holding it up to the screen to show that it reads "Pain Pizza! Now With 100% Real Cheese!" before he heads to the ring.

Amelia Williams: Our opening contest is a Red Division bout scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Your Friendly Neighborhood Pizzeria, weighing 199 pounds...Pizza Mask III!

Bob Sinclair: Pizza Mask had a rough debut, drawing The Phoenix in his first match; his luck does not get much better as he has Phoenix's primary rival tonight.

Tori Montgomery: I'd like to see him stun Stevens with an upset.

The lights in the arena go pitch black, as red lasers and spotlights light up the area. The video screen lights up and flashes across the screen, "Nothing survives my sting!" The crowd starts booing as "End of Days" by Emphatic hits the speakers, and the man in question appears from the back and stops on the stage. As "The Venomous One" stares down his opponent with an icy glare he points to them, then he makes the throat slash gesture to them before he begins walking to the ring, being pelted by trash the whole way.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Houston, Texas, weighing 265 pounds... "The Scorpion" Scott Stevens!

Bob Sinclair: So, Tori, any truth to the rumor about Stevens being locked up in the same institution that Ezeial Kerghan is known to frequent?

Tori Montgomery: I haven't gotten solid confirmation one way or the other, Bob. Afraid right now my answer is "I just don't know."

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner, at a time of six and a half minutes...Scott Stevens!

Bob Sinclair: Tough loss for the rookie, who is still looking for his first League win this season.

Tori Montgomery: Meanwhile, Stevens has his first win, and something tells me we're never going to hear the end of it now....

Sean (1-0, 12%) vs. Thor Hammerskald (1-0, 14%)

[i]Motley Crue's "Kickstart My Heart" hits the arena speakers as a spotlight shines down on the top of the ramp. Emerging from the back, the reigning League Champion emerges, gold belt gleaming in the spotlight as he throws a hand into the air, causing pyro to erupt from behind him in a manner of paparazzi photographing him. With a smirk, the champ slings the title belt over his shoulder and heads to the ring, the spotlight remaining on him the whole time.

Amelia Williams: This contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, now residing in Los Angeles, California, weighing 230 pounds, he is the reigning and defending League Champion..."Hollywood" Sean!

Tori Montgomery: I'm still not sold on this "I'm a star" ego trip that Sean is on, Bob, but so far it hasn't hurt him too much.

Bob Sinclair: Time will only tell whether that will continue, Tori, but so far it seems to be working for the former Charlotte native.

Amon Amarth's "Death in Fire" hits the speakers, to a decent ovation he emerges from backstage, looking every bit the part of a Viking warrior as he strides to the ring with a determined look on his face...and scattering some of the fans away from the entrance ramp as he turns to glare at them. Behind him, his manager/League color commentator can be see giving him encouragement as the Viking enters the confines of the squared circle.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, being accompanied to the ring by Frankie Garnett, from Oslo, Norway, weighing 310 pounds...Thor Hammerskald!

Before either commentator can start talking, Frankie motions over to Amelia, and asks for the microphone.

Tori Montgomery: Now what in the blue hell is going on?

Bob Sinclair: I think we're about to find out.

Frankie Garnett: If I may have your attention, please...I'd like to formally announce my client's entrance into this season's Tag Team Turmoil tournament. Thor's partner will be...his opponent tonight, Sean!

Bob Sinclair: And so the reigning League Champion is off the boards, as Frankie uses his contacts to bring Sean and Hammerskald into a team!

Frankie Garnett: So to the remaining eighteen peons in the back...consider what you're about to see a warning. Because you will be in this position come Tag Team Turmoil!

Frankie drops the mic, as Thor and Sean seal their alliance with a handshake in the center of the ring. Then the bell sounds, and all bets are off as...

Bob Sinclair: How so?

Tori Montgomery: I have my sources, Bob.

GREEN DIVISION: Master Imoka (1-0, 12%) vs. Nuclear Templeton (1-0, 15%)

[i]Slayer's "Angel of Death" blasts from the arena speakers as one of this season's rookies emerges from the back, staring a hole through the ring as if by doing so, he can change it to his preferred medium of a martial arts mat. As he gets to ringside, he quickly lashes out and kicks the top half of the steel steps off the bottom half, snarling as he slides into the ring and stands motionless, waiting for the bell to sound.

Amelia Williams: This is a Green Division contest scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from the Isle of Samoa, weighing 214 pounds...Master Imoka!

Bob Sinclair: Imoka was impressive in his debut last week; this week we'll see how he fares against a perennial contender.

Billy Idol's "Shock to the System" hits the speakers, bringing the crowd to their feet in ovation as one of the League's more recognizable faces emerges from backstage and across the green-tinted stage. Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, weighing 278 pounds...Nuclear Templeton!

Bob Sinclair: Templeton is off to a quick start, and is looking to keep that momentum going as he faces the rookie Imoka tonight.

Bob Sinclair: Meanwhile, Frankie Garnett is on his way back to the announcer's table; he will be joining us for the remainder of the show, I think.

AXIS AND ALLIES...

Backstage, Ezekial Kerghan is heading towards the entrance ramp, muttering something to himself. He's forced to stop in his tracks as the lumbering form of Rannulf von Krüshengberg blocks his path. Rannulf says something in his native German tongue—the translation of which is not fit for family television—to which Kerghan cackles madly and steps into Rannulf's personal space. A moment or two passes before Rannulf gets some backup—his semi-regular tag partner, Dante Lorenzo. Even outnumbered two to one, Kerghan doesn't back down, shifting his gaze between the two of them. As the tension builds, Kerghan finally speaks aloud.

Ezekial Kerghan: And lo, they shall bear witness to the End of Days....

At this, Scott Stevens emerges from the right side of the camera shot, standing alongside Kerghan. The tension builds for a few more seconds before Rannulf speaks in heavily accented English.

Rannulf von Krüshengberg: Kommen Sie, Herr Lorenzo. Save them for das Turnier.

As the two rookies leave the shot, the camera cuts back to ringside.

Bob Sinclair: Tori? Did he say what I think I heard him say?

Frankie Garnett: You mean Stevens and Kerghan joining forces? Might as well hand them the tournament runner-up trophy right now!

Tori Montgomery: ...Anyway, Bob, yes. Rannulf has basically confirmed that he and Lorenzo will be re-forming their tag team, the Axis of Flavor, at Tag Team Turmoil. I'm curious as to how well Kerghan and Stevens can co-exist, though, given how last season ended.

Ezekial Kerghan (0-1, 18%) vs. Rannulf von Krüshengberg (0-1, 11%)

Escape the Fate's "This War is Ours" hits the arena speakers as The League's newest resident psychopath emerges and heads towards the ring, looking like he's having an argument with voices only he can hear.

Amelia Williams: This match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from The Dog Pound, weighing 251 pounds...Ezekial Kerghan!

Bob Sinclair: To say that Kerghan's missing a few pieces would be an understatement.

Frankie Garnett: He makes The Joker seem like a rational human being!

The opening to Rammstein's "Mein Teil" hits the speakers as the largest member of The League emerges, causing everyone with something that could even remotely be considered food to get away from the entranceway as quickly as possible for fear of losing their food...and at least a body part or two.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from der Schwarzwald, Deutschland, weighing 421 pounds..."Der Panzer" Rannulf von Krüshengberg!

Tori Montgomery: Rannulf had a rough go of it last week; tonight he's got just as tough of a test.

Frankie Garnett: Tori, if he asks, you haven't seen my popcorn or soda.

Maxx Skabb (1-0, 15%) vs. Tarik Nolan (1-0, 15%)

Avenged Sevenfold's "Nightmare" blares throughout the arena as spotlights begin to pan over the audience, as if looking for someone. A dim red light shines on the entryway, revealing a hulking figure making his way to ringside, with two more men hiding just at the fringes of the spotlight, their eyes never leaving the form of the big man. As the refrain hits, the spotlights immediately focus on him as white strobe lights flash on the entrance stage. He slides under the bottom rope, his orange jumpsuit a stark contrast to most of the clothing in the audience as the song fades into silence.

Amelia Williams: This match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from the Orange County Correctional Facility, weighing 289 pounds...Maxx Skabb!

Frankie Garnett: Someone should pick out Diamond's grave plot; I have a feeling that Skabb will be sending her there after the tag tournament.

Tori Montgomery: I don't think so. Diamond can hold her own, Frankie.

"Regulate" hits the speakers, immediately drawing the ire of the crowd as a large figure stands in the entryway, backlit by a clear spotlight. Pyro explodes on the stage, causing the light to shut off as the figure finally emerges onto the stage proper. Laughing at the boos hurled in his direction, he takes his time walking to the ring and subsequently entering it for his next match.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Shreveport, Louisiana, weighing 292 pounds...Tarik Nolan!

Bob Sinclair: Nolan seems to be mentally prepared, given his win last week.

Three Days Grace's "Riot" hits the speakers to a chorus of jeers as the first Italian-born member of The League emerges from the back, ignoring the crowd in the arena as he mentally prepares for his upcoming match. Reaching the ring, he climbs up the steps and enters between the ropes, his face never losing a look of confident indifference.

Amelia Williams: This contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Florence, Italy, weighing 291 pounds...Dante Lorenzo!

Tori Montgomery: Only you, Frankie....

A Portugesa hits the speakers to a rousing chorus of jeers as the Tron displays the national flag of Portugal. Emerging from the entryway, he turns to salute his homeland's flag before calmly walking to the ring, ignoring the fans as he slides into the ring and bounces off the ropes a couple of times to stretch.

SOME WILL CALL US THE NEW LEGENDS OF WRESTLING....

Once again, we head backstage, where Tarik Nolan is heading back towards his locker room after his victory tonight. He's just about to enter his locker room when he's hailed by a voice off-screen.

???: Tarik.

Nolan turns, as does the camera, to see The Phoenix walking towards him.

The Phoenix: I'll be quick; I know you hate wasting time. Feel up to defending our titles this season?

There's barely a pause before Nolan answers.

Tarik Nolan: Damn straight I am.

Phoenix nods, extends his hand for a quick shake, and then turns to finish preparing for his match later in the night, as Tarik watches with the beginnings of a feral grin crossing his face.

Bob Sinclair: I think we have an early favorite in Tag Team Turmoil this season!

Tori Montgomery: No kidding, Bob. They rolled on their way to the Tag Team Turmoil championship last season; I know my early money is on them to repeat!

Frankie Garnett: A pair of choke artists teaming up. No way they repeat.

Bob Sinclair: Frankie, I think—

Frankie Garnett: No chance in hell!

Diamond (0-1, 18%) vs. Johnny Triumph (1-0, 15%)

"Don't Cha" hits the arena to a mixed reaction as The League's lone female member emerges from backstage. There is a confident smirk on her face as she talks trash with some of the louder fans before sprinting into the ring by diving under the bottom rope. As she stands, she proceeds to the corner nearest the announce table, hands thrown in the air as the soaks in the crowd reaction while her manager stands outside, also applauding her client.

Amelia Williams: This bout is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Jayde, from Aberdeen, Scotland, weighing 137 pounds...Diamond!

Bob Sinclair: One can't even view Diamond as a sentimental favorite, thanks to her Scottish upbringing.

Frankie Garnett: What I want to know is when she's going to start wearing a kilt to the ring!

Tori Montgomery: Will you stop! There are censors watching us!

A remixed version of "Ecstasy of Gold" hits the speakers, which is nearly drowned out in jeers as he emerges from the entryway. Instead of taking the steps closest to him, he walks around to the opposite side of the ring, drawing in more jeers as he finally climbs the steps and enters the ring.

Amelia Williams: Her opponent, from Des Moines, Iowa, weighing 228 pounds...Johnny Triumph!

Bob Sinclair: Certain circles are already calling Triumph this season's Champion after his win last week.

Tori Montgomery: And they're rubbish. There's almost an entire season to go.

The Phoenix (1-0, 15%) vs. Benjamin T. Stanton, Jr. (0-1, 21%)

[i]Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory" hits the arena speakers as one of the original members of The League comes out, his wife in tow. He has a deadly serious look on his face as he shadowboxes on his way to the ring. As they reach ringside, she reaches up to give him a kiss on the cheek and gives him a slight shove towards the squared circle. He dives in under the bottom rope, coming to his feet with a war cry towards the heavens as he shifts his focus to the ring.

Amelia Williams: This contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, being accompanied to the ring by Te'Snilo Bradenbury, from the End of Nowhere, weighing 337 pounds...this is The Phoenix!

Frankie Garnett: From a rush to get back to the buffet, where else?

Bob Sinclair: If he comes over here, I'm not stopping him.
