THE LEAGUE: SEASON FOUR, WEEK FIVE

It is a rather small crowd this evening as The League heads to Canada to begin the second quarter of its season. As such, it doesn't take long for the traditional crowd panorama before we cut to ringside and our usual announce team.

Bob Sinclair: Good evening, everybody, and welcome back to The League! Bob Sinclair, here at ringside as always, and once again joined by Frankie Garnett and Tori Montgomery. We're a quarter of the way through season four, guys, and with only three weeks until our third Tag Team Turmoil tournament, who do you see as the surprises of this young season?

Tori Montgomery: For me, it has to be how close the Blue Division is, given that going in, I thought Kerghan would be running away with it. However, coming into tonight, the top three are tied at 2-2, making it the closest division race this season!

Frankie Garnett: I'll tell you what the true surprise is, you two, and that's coming out of the Red Division. Once again, the powers that be are holding Scorpion down, and are allowing the man who can't pass a drug test clean to be tied for the best record in the division!

Tori Montgomery: Somehow, I'm not surprised you went that route, Frankie.

Bob Sinclair: For me, the surprise is that coming in to tonight, a Frankie-managed Thor Hammerskald is in the hunt for the Black Division title. I thought for sure that Frankie would find a way to ruin Thor's chances!

Frankie Garnett: Hey!

Tori Montgomery: And with that, let's get to the ring and Amelia Williams to get us underway!

Dante Lorenzo (2-2, 10%) vs. Jack Lightning (1-3, 15%)

Three Days Grace's "Riot" hits the speakers to a chorus of jeers as the first Italian-born member of The League emerges from the back, ignoring the crowd in the arena as he mentally prepares for his upcoming match. Reaching the ring, he climbs up the steps and enters between the ropes, his face never losing a look of confident indifference.

Amelia Williams: Our opening contest of the night is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Florence, Italy, weighing 291 pounds...Dante Lorenzo!

Bob Sinclair: Lorenzo is part of that logjam atop the Blue Division standings; a win here should certainly help his cause.

Tori Montgomery: Indeed, Bob. A win here could easily put him atop the Blue Division standings, whether by tie-breaker or outright.

Frankie Garnett: Not to mention that it could start building momentum for Tag Team Turmoil as well.

Linkin Park's "New Divide" hits the speakers as the first Canadian to enter The League emerges from the back, looking surprisingly at ease as he steps onto the ring apron and leaps over the top rope. Climbing onto the turnbuckles, he raises an arm in the air and drinks in the cheers of the crowd before dropping back to the mat and preparing for his match.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from London, Ontario, weighing 233 pounds...Jack Lightning!

Bob Sinclair: So, Tori, you mentioned to me earlier in the week that you thought Lightning should be doing better. What'd you discover?

Frankie Garnett: Oh, this should be good....

Tori Montgomery: I've discovered that really, it's just been bad luck for the guy. I have a computer simulation at the office I use to help with my predictions, and there's no reason Lightning should be 1-3. In my trials this week, sim-Lightning went 6-4 out of the ten matches I ran against other sim-League members. He just hasn't had the luck fall his way.

Frankie Garnett: Where can I get this simula-thingy?

Tori Montgomery: You wouldn't understand it, Frankie. It's far more advanced than your Etch-a-Sketch.

Bob Sinclair: Damn....

Tori Montgomery: Is that what you keep telling Thor?

Frankie Garnett: Yes, but he doesn't listen! He just goes on and on about "Sleipnir this" and "Ragnarok that." It's like talking to a wall!

Frankie Garnett: I swear, if that had won Lightning the match I would have gone to the League offices and protested.

Tori Montgomery: What a way to open the show!

Bob Sinclair: Lightning basically left everything out there, but it was not to be tonight as he falls to Lorenzo in a sensational opening contest!

Frankie Garnett: OK, I'll admit, that was good. But given that Thor's match is coming up soon, I think I have other duties to attend to. If you'll excuse me....

Frankie drops the headset and starts to head backstage.

Bob Sinclair: ...Doesn't he normally wait until the match BEFORE Thor's to leave?

Tori Montgomery: I gave up trying to figure Frankie out months ago, Bob. I've not lost any sleep since.

GREEN DIVISION: Nuclear Templeton (2-2, 11%) vs. Sean (3-1, 15%)

Billy Idol's "Shock to the System" hits the speakers, bringing the crowd to their feet in ovation as one of the League's more recognizable faces emerges from backstage and across the green-tinted stage. As he hits the end of the entrance ramp, he throws his arms into the air, sending a pair of mushroom clouds into the air from the stage as he makes his way to the ring and through the ropes.

Amelia Williams: This is a Green Division contest scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, weighing 278 pounds...Nuclear Templeton!

Bob Sinclair: Templeton comes in tonight third in the Green Division, one match behind both Imoka and his opponent tonight. A win here gives him much-needed traction in the Green Division race.

Tori Montgomery: It's too early to rule him out of the divisional hunt, but a loss certainly hinders his chances, that's for certain.

Motley Crue's "Kickstart My Heart" hits the arena speakers as a spotlight shines down on the top of the ramp. Emerging from the back, the reigning League Champion emerges, gold belt gleaming in the spotlight as he throws a hand into the air, causing pyro to erupt from behind him in a manner of paparazzi photographing him. With a smirk, the champ slings the title belt over his shoulder and heads to the ring, the spotlight remaining on him the whole time.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, now residing in Los Angeles, California, weighing 230 pounds, he is the reigning and defending League Champion..."Hollywood" Sean!

Bob Sinclair: Sean's certainly gained some new life after winning the League Championship last season, Tori. Our recent poll shows that he is the third-most entertaining wrestler on the roster this season, a far cry from his normal routine.

Tori Montgomery: Winning the title could certainly be the catalyst behind it, but whatever the reason, it looks like Sean's become quite a hot commodity around The League.

Tori Montgomery: And for the second time tonight, a torture rack-style submission finisher is nearly turned into a pinfall for the potential victim!

Bob Sinclair: Nuclear nearly let that one get away from him, though he needs to be wary of Sean's Figure Four. The champ has made Nuclear look weak with that one move alone.

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner, at a time of twenty-three minutes and ten seconds...Sean!

Bob Sinclair: And somehow, Sean holds on for the win and the outright Green Division lead!

Tori Montgomery: Not to mention that this is certainly going to help his entertainment value, Bob! Right now, Sean can literally do no wrong!

YELLOW DIVISION: Robbie Maynard (3-1, 11%) vs. Rannulf von Krüshengberg (2-2, 17%)

The opening riffs of Metallica's "Master of Puppets" hits the speakers, drawing a mixed reaction from the crowd as one of the League's initial playoff wrestlers emerges from the stage, bathed in a blue light shining beneath him. After pausing to mentally prepare himself, he walks to the ring, his eyes never leaving the squared circle as he climbs onto the apron and ducks between the ropes.

Amelia Williams: This is a Yellow Division contest scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Liverpool, England, weighing 251 pounds...Robbie Maynard!

Bob Sinclair: Maynard comes in tonight with the outright divisional lead, and he's looking to expand it against one of this season's rookies.

Tori Montgomery: Some people may have said that the Yellow Division would only be a two-man race between Maynard and Nolan; right now Maynard is running away with it.

The opening to Rammstein's "Mein Teil" hits the speakers as the largest member of The League emerges, causing everyone with something that could even remotely be considered food to get away from the entranceway as quickly as possible for fear of losing their food...and at least a body part or two.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from der Schwarzwald, Deutschland, weighing 421 pounds..."Der Panzer" Rannulf von Krüshengberg!

Tori Montgomery: As far as rookies go, Rannulf's having a respectable season, starting 2-2 with an average entertainment value. There is room for improvement though.

Bob Sinclair: Isn't there always, unless you're undefeated with impeccable entertainment?

Tori Montgomery: Good call.

Bob Sinclair: I'm still not sure how he managed to lock in the Stop the Ferry on the large frame of Rannulf, but nonetheless Maynard goes to 4-1 and assures himself the outright lead in the Yellow Division once again!

BLACK DIVISION: Thor Hammerskald (2-2, 15%) vs. Johnny Triumph (4-0, 14%)

Amon Amarth's "Death in Fire" hits the speakers, to a decent ovation he emerges from backstage, looking every bit the part of a Viking warrior as he strides to the ring with a determined look on his face...and scattering some of the fans away from the entrance ramp as he turns to glare at them. Behind him, his manager/League color commentator can be see giving him encouragement as the Viking enters the confines of the squared circle.

Amelia Williams: This is a Black Division match scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, being accompanied to the ring by Frankie Garnett, from Oslo, Norway, weighing 310 pounds...Thor Hammerskald!

Bob Sinclair: Last week saw Frankie get involved in a match for the first time; will he do it again this week, Tori?

Tori Montgomery: I'm going to guess no. Thor hasn't needed any help in the past and I don't see Frankie getting more involved now.

A remixed version of "Ecstasy of Gold" hits the speakers, which is nearly drowned out in jeers as he emerges from the entryway. Instead of taking the steps closest to him, he walks around to the opposite side of the ring, drawing in more jeers as he finally climbs the steps and enters the ring.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Des Moines, Iowa, weighing 228 pounds...Johnny Triumph!

Bob Sinclair: Triumph got a wake-up call last season, as he failed to even make the playoffs to defend his League Championship, and has responded admirably, coming into tonight undefeated and sitting atop the Black Division this season.

Tori Montgomery: This is a match I'm watching closely, Bob; the winner of the Black Division could easily be determined tonight.

Tori Montgomery: Now he just needs to keep his cool and rebound next week; he can't let that little bit of doubt creep into his mind.

Diamond (2-2, 21%) vs. Master Imoka (3-1, 8%)

"Don't Cha" hits the arena to a mixed reaction as The League's lone female member emerges from backstage. There is a confident smirk on her face as she talks trash with some of the louder fans before sprinting into the ring by diving under the bottom rope. As she stands, she proceeds to the corner nearest the announce table, hands thrown in the air as the soaks in the crowd reaction while her manager stands outside, also applauding her client.

Amelia Williams: This contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Jayde, from Aberdeen, Scotland, weighing 137 pounds...Diamond!

Tori Montgomery: I do not envy Diamond's task tonight, Bob.

Bob Sinclair: I second that opinion. Diamond's going against arguably the cream of the rookie crop this season.

Slayer's "Angel of Death" blasts from the arena speakers as one of this season's rookies emerges from the back, staring a hole through the ring as if by doing so, he can change it to his preferred medium of a martial arts mat. As he gets to ringside, he quickly lashes out and kicks the top half of the steel steps off the bottom half, snarling as he slides into the ring and stands motionless, waiting for the bell to sound.

Amelia Williams: Her opponent, from the Isle of Samoa, weighing 214 pounds...Master Imoka!

Ezekial Kerghan (2-2, 18%) vs. Tarik Nolan (2-2, 12%)

Escape the Fate's "This War is Ours" hits the arena speakers as The League's newest resident psychopath emerges and heads towards the ring, looking like he's having an argument with voices only he can hear.

Amelia Williams: This bout is set for one fall! Introducing first, from The Dog Pound, weighing 251 pounds...Ezekial Kerghan!

Bob Sinclair: And as Frankie Garnett rejoins us at ringside, I expect this to be an out and out brawl.

Frankie Garnett: Neither of these two are known for their technical skills, Bob; I agree with you that this will be a fight, plain and simple.

"Regulate" hits the speakers, immediately drawing the ire of the crowd as a large figure stands in the entryway, backlit by a clear spotlight. Pyro explodes on the stage, causing the light to shut off as the figure finally emerges onto the stage proper. Laughing at the boos hurled in his direction, he takes his time walking to the ring and subsequently entering it for his next match.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Shreveport, Louisiana, weighing 292 pounds...Tarik Nolan!

Tori Montgomery: So the question here is who do you root for? Which is the lesser of two evils?

Frankie Garnett: Kerghan. He's allying himself with Scorpion, that makes the choice clear.

"Not a Stranger to the Danger" blares through the arena as one of last season's rookies steps into the arena, a look of determination on his face. A moment later, he sprints towards the ring, sliding in under the bottom rope and heading to a corner to appeal to the fans.

Amelia Williams: This bout is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Blackpool, England, weighing 222 pounds...Ian Carlisle!

Bob Sinclair: Carlisle has struggled this season, being one of two wrestlers yet to secure a win this season.

Frankie Garnett: Like I said, the kid has no chance.

Tori Montgomery: Until he's eliminated from the playoffs, Frankie, he's got as much of a chance as Johnny Triumph or Sean.

"Here Comes the Money" hits the speakers, as one of this season's rookies emerges from the back, with a beautiful woman hanging off his left arm. He pays no attention to the jeering fans, his attitude simply screaming "I'm better than you."

Amelia Williams: His opponent, accompanied to the ring by Missy Callistra, from Providence, Rhode Island, weighing 224 pounds...Benjamin T. Stanton, Jr.!

Tori Montgomery: And again I repeat, until he's eliminated from playoff contention, he has a chance!

RED DIVISION: Scott Stevens (1-3, 17%) vs. Pizza Mask III (2-2, 15%)

The theme to Samurai Pizza Cats, of all things, hits as Pizza Mask comes out on a scooter, with a pizza box strapped to the back, wearing a helmet with his pizza-design mask, his black polo shirt covered by a red t-shirt that simply says "You Can't Avoid the Noidsault!", and khaki pants, hopping off the scooter and unstrapping the pizza box, holding it up to the screen to show that it reads "Pain Pizza! Now With 100% Real Cheese!" before he heads to the ring. As he enters the ring itself, he pulls off the Noidsault T-shirt and tosses it into the crowd, getting ready for the match.

Amelia Williams: This is a Red Division bout scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Your Friendly Neighborhood Pizzeria, weighing 199 pounds...Pizza Mask III!

Frankie Garnett: The..."Noidsault?" Can't he be sued for copyright infringement for that?

Tori Montgomery: The Noid went out of fashion in the '90's, Frankie. I think the statute of limitations has expired.

The lights in the arena go pitch black, as red lasers and spotlights light up the area. The video screen lights up and flashes across the screen, "Nothing survives my sting!" The crowd starts booing as "End of Days" by Emphatic hits the speakers, and the man in question appears from the back and stops on the stage. As "The Venomous One" stares down his opponent with an icy glare he points to them, then he makes the throat slash gesture to them before he begins walking to the ring, being pelted by trash the whole way.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Houston, Texas, weighing 265 pounds... "The Scorpion" Scott Stevens!

Bob Sinclair: Stevens has made no secret of the fact that he intends to end Phoenix's season by any means necessary in two weeks in Stevens' home town of Houston.

Tori Montgomery: I think the Commissioner needs to step in here; there's no room for that in The League. Hell, Phoenix should be the aggrieved party!

Frankie Garnett: You would! You probably stay at the End of Nowhere between seasons, don't you?!

Tori Montgomery: Frankie Garnett, you had best shut up or so help me, I'll shut you up myself.

Frankie Garnett: You wish, Tori. Just keep dreaming.

RED DIVISION: Maxx Skabb (3-1, 18%) vs. The Phoenix (3-1, 15%)

Avenged Sevenfold's "Nightmare" blares throughout the arena as spotlights begin to pan over the audience, as if looking for someone. A dim red light shines on the entryway, revealing a hulking figure making his way to ringside, with two more men hiding just at the fringes of the spotlight, their eyes never leaving the form of the big man. As the refrain hits, the spotlights immediately focus on him as white strobe lights flash on the entrance stage. He slides under the bottom rope, his orange jumpsuit a stark contrast to most of the clothing in the audience as the song fades into silence.

Amelia Williams: This is a Red Division contest scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from the Orange County Correctional Facility, weighing 289 pounds...Maxx Skabb!

Bob Sinclair: Skabb comes in tonight leading the Red Division via tie-breaker, and he has a tough task ahead of him tonight.

Tori Montgomery: This should be a good match, regardless of what the third wheel at the table says.

Frankie Garnett: Isn't that "fifth wheel?"

Tori Montgomery: ...just shut up, Frankie.

Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory" hits the arena speakers as one of the original members of The League comes out, his wife in tow. He has a deadly serious look on his face as he shadowboxes on his way to the ring. As they reach ringside, she reaches up to give him a kiss on the cheek and gives him a slight shove towards the squared circle. He dives in under the bottom rope, coming to his feet with a war cry towards the heavens as he shifts his focus to the ring.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, being accompanied to the ring by Te'Snilo Bradenbury, from the End of Nowhere, weighing 337 pounds...this is The Phoenix!

Frankie Garnett: More like the Walking Dead, am I right?

BLACK DIVISION: SGRaaize (0-4, 25%) vs. Eidenhoek Gaiaspade (2-2, 15%)

A Portugesa hits the speakers to a rousing chorus of jeers as the Tron displays the national flag of Portugal. Emerging from the entryway, he turns to salute his homeland's flag before calmly walking to the ring, ignoring the fans as he slides into the ring and bounces off the ropes a couple of times to stretch.

Amelia Williams: This is our main event of the evening, a Black Division contest scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Torres Vedras, Portugal, weighing 231 pounds...SGRaaize!

Bob Sinclair: Folks, I'll be calling this match alone, as both Tori and Frankie have been told to stay in the locker room as far apart from each other as possible for the remainder of the show. That said, Raaize is in dire need of a win to have a chance at salvaging his season.

Disturbed's "Indestructible" hits the arena as one of this season's rookies emerges from the back, looking surprisingly at ease despite the hard beat of the song. Jumping onto the apron from the floor, he steps between the ropes and calmly waits for the bell to get the match underway.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from the Island of Tria, weighing 205 pounds...Eidenhoek Gaiaspade!

Bob Sinclair: A win here would tie Gaius and Hammerskald for second in the division, with the tie-breaker being uncertain as to who would have the advantage until after the show ends tonight.
