THE LEAGUE: SEASON FOUR, WEEK SIX

Back in a larger arena this week, we open to a full-on pyro show as the fans make themselves heard over the title music. Signs are once again in abundance, with Nuclear Templeton and Tarik Nolan the primary names mentioned. All too soon, we head to ringside and our usual announce team, which is short one member at the moment.

Bob Sinclair: Good evening, everyone, and welcome to our week six festivities! Bob Sinclair here at ringside with Tori Montgomery; Frankie Garnett will be joining us later on. Tori, have you calmed down after last week?

Tori Montgomery: For now, Bob. If Frankie starts any funny business this week, I'm going to have to beat him down, suspension threat or not.

Bob Sinclair: Anyway, we have a pair of first blood matches on the card tonight, one of which is a divisional contest. We're not going to waste any time tonight; let's head to Amelia Williams in the ring to get tonight's action underway!

BLACK DIVISION: Thor Hammerskald (3-2, 4%) vs. Eidenhoek Gaiaspade (2-3, 11%)

Amon Amarth's "Death in Fire" hits the speakers, to a decent ovation he emerges from backstage, looking every bit the part of a Viking warrior as he strides to the ring with a determined look on his face...and scattering some of the fans away from the entrance ramp as he turns to glare at them. Behind him, his manager/League color commentator can be see giving him encouragement as the Viking enters the confines of the squared circle.

Amelia Williams: Our opening contest is scheduled for one fall in the Black Division! Introducing first, being accompanied to the ring by Frankie Garnett, from Oslo, Norway, weighing 310 pounds...Thor Hammerskald!

Bob Sinclair: There's disadvantages, Tori, and then there's what Thor is facing tonight.

Tori Montgomery: His supposed manager aside, there's been larger popularity differences overcome before. He does have his work cut out for him tonight, though.

Disturbed's "Indestructible" hits the arena as one of this season's rookies emerges from the back, looking surprisingly at ease despite the hard beat of the song. Jumping onto the apron from the floor, he steps between the ropes and calmly waits waits for the bell to get the match underway.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from the Island of Tria, weighing 205 pounds...Eidenhoek Gaiaspade!

Bob Sinclair: Gaius has had an up-and-down start to the season so far, a win here puts him right back into the Black Division hunt.

Tori Montgomery: It's still early, Bob. A loss tonight doesn't kill his chances either, it merely hinders them.

Master Imoka (3-2, 10%) vs. Rannulf von Krüshengberg (2-3, 16%)

Slayer's "Angel of Death" blasts from the arena speakers as one of this season's rookies emerges from the back, staring a hole through the ring as if by doing so, he can change it to his preferred medium of a martial arts mat. As he gets to ringside, he quickly lashes out and kicks the top half of the steel steps off the bottom half, snarling as he slides into the ring and stands motionless, waiting for the bell to sound.

Amelia Williams: This bout is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from the Isle of Samoa, weighing 214 pounds...Master Imoka!

Bob Sinclair: Imoka rattled off three straight to start the season, though he's run into problems with League veterans Templeton and Diamond in recent weeks. This week he's against a fellow League rookie and looks to capitalize.

Tori Montgomery: Never mind that he's coming in at about half the size of his opponent...

The opening to Rammstein's "Mein Teil" hits the speakers as the largest member of The League emerges, causing everyone with something that could even remotely be considered food to get away from the entranceway as quickly as possible for fear of losing their food...and at least a body part or two.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from der Schwarzwald, Deutschland, weighing 421 pounds..."Der Panzer" Rannulf von Krüshengberg!

Bob Sinclair: "Der Panzer" has started off the season on a weaker note than we all thought he might, Tori.

Tori Montgomery: So far, his only success has come against those who entered the League in season two. He's 0-1 against fellow rookies this season, and is looking to change that with a win tonight.

Tori Montgomery: ...damn. And I was getting used to the peace and quiet out here.

FIRST BLOOD MATCH: Pizza Mask III (2-3, 14%) vs. Johnny Triumph (4-1, 12%)

The theme to Samurai Pizza Cats, of all things, hits as Pizza Mask comes out on a scooter, with a pizza box strapped to the back, wearing a helmet with his pizza-design mask, his black polo shirt covered by a red t-shirt that simply says "You Can't Avoid the Noidsault!", and khaki pants, hopping off the scooter and unstrapping the pizza box, holding it up to the screen to show that it reads "Pain Pizza! Now With 100% Real Cheese!" before he heads to the ring. As he enters the ring itself, he pulls off the Noidsault T-shirt and tosses it into the crowd, getting ready for the match.

Amelia Williams: The following contest is a First Blood match! Introducing first, from Your Friendly Neighborhood Pizzeria, weighing 199 pounds...Pizza Mask III!

Bob Sinclair: He voiced the question last week, and it bears repeating, Tori. How does one make a masked man bleed?

Tori Montgomery: Simple. Those masks aren't too thick. It might take a couple extra repetitions, but it can be done. Besides, the blood will likely get into Pizza Mask's eyes, and then even if it wasn't First Blood, the match would likely be over at that point.

Frankie Garnett: See, that mask is an unfair advantage, and he should be made to wrestle without it!

Tori Montgomery: ...oy...

A remixed version of "Ecstasy of Gold" hits the speakers, which is nearly drowned out in jeers as he emerges from the entryway. Instead of taking the steps closest to him, he walks around to the opposite side of the ring, drawing in more jeers as he finally climbs the steps and enters the ring.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Des Moines, Iowa, weighing 228 pounds...Johnny Triumph!

Frankie Garnett: This should be a cakewalk for Triumph.

Tori Montgomery: And why is that?

The Phoenix (3-2, 17%) vs. Dante Lorenzo (3-2, 10%)

Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory" hits the arena speakers as one of the original members of The League comes out, his wife in tow. He has a deadly serious look on his face as he shadowboxes on his way to the ring. As they reach ringside, she reaches up to give him a kiss on the cheek and gives him a slight shove towards the squared circle. He dives in under the bottom rope, coming to his feet with a war cry towards the heavens as he shifts his focus to the ring.

Amelia Williams: This match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, being accompanied to the ring by Te'Snilo Bradenbury, from the End of Nowhere, weighing 337 pounds...this is The Phoenix!

Bob Sinclair: The question has to be asked, Tori: is Phoenix looking past this match to next week, and his first match against Scott Stevens since last season's happenings?

Tori Montgomery: If he is, Lorenzo will make him pay for it. But Phoenix is more professional than that, Bob.

Frankie Garnett: Spreading more lies, Tori?

Tori Montgomery: ....

Three Days Grace's "Riot" hits the speakers to a chorus of jeers as the first Italian-born member of The League emerges from the back, ignoring the crowd in the arena as he mentally prepares for his upcoming match. Reaching the ring, he climbs up the steps and enters between the ropes, his face never losing a look of confident indifference.

Bob Sinclair: Am I going to have to send you two to the back again?

Scott Stevens (2-3, 16%) vs. SGRaaize (1-4, 12%)

A Portugesa hits the speakers to a rousing chorus of jeers as the Tron displays the national flag of Portugal. Emerging from the entryway, he turns to salute his homeland's flag before calmly walking to the ring, ignoring the fans as he slides into the ring and bounces off the ropes a couple of times to stretch.

Amelia Williams: This bout is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Torres Vedras, Portugal, weighing 231 pounds...SGRaaize!

Bob Sinclair: Raaize finally got off the 0-fer last week; I don't envy him his task this week against a sure-to-be-determined Scott Stevens.

Tori Montgomery: I'd agree if it were two seasons ago, before Stevens was institutionalized. As it is, I give Raaize even odds.

Frankie Garnett: Who are you kidding, Tori? Raaize has no shot in hell of winning tonight!

The lights in the arena go pitch black, as red lasers and spotlights light up the area. The video screen lights up and flashes across the screen, "Nothing survives my sting!" The crowd starts booing as "End of Days" by Emphatic hits the speakers, and the man in question appears from the back and stops on the stage. As "The Venomous One" stares down his opponent with an icy glare he points to them, then he makes the throat slash gesture to them before he begins walking to the ring, being pelted by trash the whole way.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Houston, Texas, weighing 265 pounds... "The Scorpion" Scott Stevens!

Bob Sinclair: Again, the question becomes "is Stevens too focused on next week?"

Frankie Garnett: He's focused on Phoenix, yes, but Raaize will give him no problems.

Maxx Skabb (4-1, 13%) vs. Diamond (3-2, 17%)

Avenged Sevenfold's "Nightmare" blares throughout the arena as spotlights begin to pan over the audience, as if looking for someone. A dim red light shines on the entryway, revealing a hulking figure making his way to ringside, with two more men hiding just at the fringes of the spotlight, their eyes never leaving the form of the big man. As the refrain hits, the spotlights immediately focus on him as white strobe lights flash on the entrance stage. He slides under the bottom rope, his orange jumpsuit a stark contrast to most of the clothing in the audience as the song fades into silence.

Amelia Williams: This contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from the Orange County Correctional Facility, weighing 289 pounds...Maxx Skabb!

Bob Sinclair: A win here gives Maxx the top overall record heading into week seven.

Tori Montgomery: This should be a heck of a match given their history.

Frankie Garnett: I still say Stevens was robbed.

Tori Montgomery: And no one is paying any attention to you, either.

"Don't Cha" hits the arena to a mixed reaction as The League's lone female member emerges from backstage. There is a confident smirk on her face as she talks trash with some of the louder fans before sprinting into the ring by diving under the bottom rope. As she stands, she proceeds to the corner nearest the announce table, hands thrown in the air as the soaks in the crowd reaction while her manager stands outside, also applauding her client.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, accompanied to the ring by Jayde, from Aberdeen, Scotland, weighing 137 pounds...Diamond!

GREEN DIVISION: Jack Lightning (1-4, 15%) vs. Sean (4-1, 15%)

Linkin Park's "New Divide" hits the speakers as the first Canadian to enter The League emerges from the back, looking surprisingly at ease as he steps onto the ring apron and leaps over the top rope. Climbing onto the turnbuckles, he raises an arm in the air and drinks in the cheers of the crowd before dropping back to the mat and preparing for his match.

Amelia Williams: This Green Division contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from London, Ontario, weighing 233 pounds...Jack Lightning!

Bob Sinclair: Is it too early to say that Lightning's season is in dire straits?
